747 live DFA: Indian nationals may now apply for e-visa

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is now fully implementing the e-visa system in India.

Following its soft launching and beta testing in August 2023, the DFA rolled out on Oct. 28 the e-visa system at the Philippine embassy in New Delhi and three Philippine honorary consulates in India (Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai).

Enhancements to further improve user experience have been integrated into the e-visa system in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Indian nationals may apply for e-visas remotely by visiting the official website evisa.gov.ph and paying fees online through bank transfer.

As of Oct. 31, 7,259 applicants have been issued e-visas.

The first e-visa holder from India entered the Philippines on April 13 during beta testing, and passed through immigration counters smoothly.

This milestone affirmed the full integration of the e-visa and e-travel registration system in coordination with DICT and the Bureau of Immigration.

With President Marcos’ directive in January 2023 on issuing e-visas to Chinese and Indian nationals747 live, the implementation of the system was announced as the next deliverable of the Philippines’ digital transformation agenda during his State of the Nation Address in July.
